Homework
We know from extensive research that parents who are actively involved with their children's school and showing interest in their learning, give their children a great start on the learning journey. We also know that those children go on to achieve better academic results, behave better, lead healthier lives and have better prospects upon leaving school.
Homework is always difficult to agree on as some parents want more and some want less! Homework can be a wonderful way to become involved in your child’s education. It also promotes time management and academic discipline as well as being a fun way to practise skills or find out new things. We focus on basic skills to reinforce learning at home, yet still gives time for family life.
The table below outlines weekly homework for each year group IN ADDITION TO DAILY READING. All children from Reception to Year 6 should be reading to an adult at least 5 times per week.
